Written Report
Comments: Now back to our regularly scheduled winter weather, today's temps in the upper-30's will feel downright balmy compared to the past couple days. We'll be skiing and riding on 15 trails scheduled to open, all expertly groomed overnight, and conditions set to start the day as crisp, packed-powder corduroy. All lifts are scheduled for 9 a.m. with Polar Bear, Powder Bear and Cubby Tow spinning a couple of extra hours this evening until 6 p.m. and the Pine Meadows Tubing Park is open today from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Our snowmakers buried Pitch Pine and Pine Brule earlier this week and also made snow on West Slope and Crooked Trails for future terrain park elements, so our groomers will be looking to blade and push out piles next to hopefully get us to all trails open in the near future. Please note, our Uphill Travel Policy is active via standard required routes and travel must be done in a single file on the edge of the trail.
XC/Snowshoe/Ice Skate Comments: Natural 6-18” base on XC trails has been packed down by snowmobile, but not groomed and not ideal conditions for Nordic skiing. Snowshoeing is the recommended activity. Caution, ungroomed snow may have hidden hazards or be firm and frozen. A valid ticket or season pass is required to access XC & snowshoe trails or Tohko Dome ice skating rink. Rental equipment is available through the King Pine Rental & Tune Shop.
